Values of Cooperation
The P2P Values of Cooperation include the Mission Statement, Doctrinal Values, and Philosophical Values.
Participation in P2P is based upon agreement with these values. If the church’s or the individual’s views change to differ from these values, P2P must be informed with the understanding that they will no longer be eligible to participate in Path2Pastor. Funds for P2P are only available for those pursuing pastoral ministry and available only as God provides.
These values of cooperation are the foundational values upon which a local church and Ironwood must agree in order for Ironwood to help a local church encourage and facilitate men to consider and to prepare for pastoral ministry. This statement is not intended to be a test of fellowship or a basis of any other type of ministry cooperation endeavor. Neither is it an attempt to infringe upon any local church’s autonomy concerning the interpretation and application of the Holy Scriptures.
A mutual endeavor aimed at preparing pastors requires an alignment in doctrinal beliefs and ministry philosophy that goes beyond fellowship issues. We recognize that not all evangelical churches who love and serve God with all their heart will come to the same doctrinal and philosophical conclusions found in this statement of cooperation. Thus, the point of this statement is to make sure the participating ministries can work together without being at differing purposes.
There are three parts to the Values of Cooperation (Mission Statement, Doctrinal Values, and Philosophical Values). Understanding and agreeing with each, is essential for cooperation in this endeavor.
