Mission Statement

Glorify God by providing resources that assist churches to identify, recruit, train, assess, and equip future pastors who will possess sound doctrine and Christlike character, and be anchored by biblical philosophy.

Glorify God by Providing Resources…

One of the unique aspects of Ironwood is that God has blessed Ironwood with a wide network of partners in ministry. These partners enable Ironwood to provide resources such as specialty camps, financial assistance, educational scholarships, books, ideas, discipleship structure, and mentoring opportunities. P2P seeks to place these resources into the hands of the church.

…That Assist Churches…

The local church has been given the responsibility of preparing men for the pastorate. Our desire is to come alongside churches to assist and encourage them in accomplishing their God-given responsibility. This endeavor seeks to keep the burden, responsibility, and decision making in the hands of the local church.

…To Identify, Recruit, Train, Assess, and Equip Future Pastors…

2 Timothy 2:2 summarizes the church’s responsibility to be the primary agent of developing future leaders and pastors. The church must actively invest in future pastors by helping them identify their gifts, verify their calling, and disciple their growth. Often men who are seeking to become pastors are left on their own to find their way through the arduous process of getting ready for pastoral ministry and finding a pastoral position. This endeavor seeks to help the church disciple men to an effective pastorate.

…Who will Possess Sound Doctrine and Christlike Character, and be Anchored by Biblical Philosophy.

Healthy churches need healthy pastors. To be effective, a pastor must have three qualities—sound doctrine, Christlike character, and biblical philosophy. One’s view of God is the foundation for everything the pastor will believe and do. Sound doctrine flows out of a biblical view of God. Right belief leads to right actions. Christlike character is choosing to live out right doctrine. The qualifications of a pastor as listed in 1 Timothy 3 are primarily about character and not skill. Often the reason for pastors leaving the ministry today is not because of a lack of skill but a lack of character. Having a biblical philosophy allows the pastor to make practical ministry decisions that are not based upon personal opinion but rather biblical principle. One’s philosophy will determine one’s practice in ministry.
